Grungy Film Festival Weekend at Kino Cinemas | 05/10/2012

For the first time in 2012, the Greek Film Festival in Melbourne is screening a selection of its most cutting-edge dramas at Kino Cinemas on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 October.

Three friends roam the streets of Exarcheia on a hot August night in Jerks (dir. Stelios Kammitsis), while Boy Eating the Bird's Food (dir. Ektoras Lygizos) explores starvation, alienation and de-humanisation on the streets of austerity-dominated Athens. Four couples and four pregnancies meet one inextricably violent end in The City of Children (dir. Yorgos Gikapeppas), and exclusion, violence and psychological cannibalism come to a head in Tungsten (dir. Giorgos Georgopoulos).
