Welcome to the 28 titles across 49 sessions spanning the last 4 decades of Hellenic cinema that have come together to play as the 14th Antipodes Greek Film Festival.

A cacophony of drama, angst and the hilarious sit along side classical gems and unabashed popular blockbusters – the largest celebration of Greek cinema outside of Greece will be delivered yet again in the luscious surrounds that is Palace Cinema Como.

Headed by the irreverent box office smash hit by Nikos Perakis’ Sirens in the Aegean and featuring the award winning Charitons Choir starring the talented George Chorraface, the 2006 Festival yet again offers an opportunity to sample the wares of the contemporary Greek film industry and its stable of young and award winning filmmakers.

Whilst in the retrospective mood, the Festival has looked back and invited a collection of favourites to grace Melbourne’s screens once again. From the popular darlings of Greek Cinema, Aliki Vougiouklaki and Zoe Laskari to the somewhat more recent Festival smash hits such as The Canary Yellow Bicycle, the Festival offers a complete cinematic menu for you to select, savour and devour.
