Most of the Festival films are restricted to persons aged 18 years and over [R18]. This does not necessarily relate to the content of the films, but to the censorship laws regulating festivals, as enforced by the Office of Film & Literature Classification. 

The only exception to this is  A Touch of Spice [M15+], Hard Goodbyes [M] and Zorba the Greek [PG]

The Hellenic Community of WA in conjunction with Cinema Paradiso, is proud to present the inaugural Greek Film Festival in Perth. The Festival aims to showcase contemporary Greek cinema and promote the Greek culture and language to Greek Australians and the wider Australian community. A total of 10 films will be screened and the Festival will take place at Cinema Paradiso on James Street in Northbridge. In the year of the Athens Olympics, it is our hope to bring some Greek spirit to Perth. This year's program is rich and varied and is sure to provoke and inspire viewers.

The 2004 Festival will be launched by the bittersweet epic, A Touch of Spice, courtesy of Roadshow Film Distributors. 

Acknowledged as one of the most successful Greek movies ever made, A Touch of Spice tells the story of a young Greek boy growing-up in Constantinoupolis whose grandfather teaches him that both food and life need a little something to give them flavour; they both require…a touch of spice.  more>>

Stunning Greek photo exhibition now showing!

Cinema Paradiso is now showing a photographic exhibition by acclaimed photographer Nick Melidonis. The photographs capture the spirit of Greece and feature in Melidonis' new book, Aegean Light (published by Fremantle Arts Centre Press). 

The exhibition runs until the end of the Festival.
Books will be on sale during the Festival.
