The festival is well under way now and thanks to you box office records continue to be broken. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for coming in your droves to the screenings. With more people attending this year it will allow us to offer an even stronger program of events in future years.

We urge all of you to come and join us on closing night because it promises to be as exciting and enjoyable as the opening night, albeit with a very different line up. First you have the chance to see Costa Gavras' classic "stunning political thriller" Z. The Daily Telegraph's Michael Bodey refers to Gavras as "arguably Greece's greatest film director" and there are few who would argue with this assessment (click here to see what else Bodey had to say).

On a lighter note The Film Festival is considering branching out into the grocery business! Why? Those of you who have seen our 'spice shop in Palace Norton St Cinema will agree it does look very authentic. However, we didn't realise how good it was until a lady approached the counter to pay for a kilo of dried chilli's. She was rather disappointed when we advised her that they were only for display and that the price was actually in pounds! Please place your order at the 'spice shop' when you next drop in!
Finally don't miss your chance to win a return flight to Athens courtesy of Gulf Air. Tickets are only $5 each and only 1000 were printed! You can purchase tickets from the festival volunteers at the festival info booth in the cinema.
