The story of a female singer from Asia Minor who in 1922 joins the wave of refugees from Anatolia to mainland Greece. With remarkable authenticity the film reconstructs the texture of the era through the rembetiko musical tradition and through the ethos of the people who created and lived it. Won the Silver Bear at the Berlin Festival.
