This award-winning film chronicles the life of the nineteenth-century writer Georgios Vizyenos, who in his later years is committed to a mental asylum.

The film recreates his childhood life as an apprentice to a tailor in Constantinople where he is sustained by his grandfather's vivid fairy tales. Called back to the village to his ailing grandfather, Georgios will hear one final story, the most fantastic of all.
